It’s A Fabulous Festivity Finale! Announcing The Festival Line Up For the Winding Wheel Ballroom in Chesterfield

The British weather over winter is an unpredictable beast but we’re here to bring joy indoors this February with a return of Festivity for the finale in this exciting programme of local creative talent.

Come along to The Winding Wheel in Chesterfield as we take over the ballroom at this brilliant town-centre venue in the north of the county. We will, once again, be transforming this popular events space with our curated celebration of Derbyshire talent.

This programme is being brought together for a fun finale to Festivity – a festival of festivals – from 10am to 5pm on 21 February.

🎶 Live Music

Our featured artists for the Winding Wheel already captured the imaginations of the crowds that joined us in the summer last year. Come along to Chesterfield for an opportunity to see a star-in-the-making, 16 year old singer-songwriter Romy, who captivated the audience in Ilkeston.  Romy shares the stage with Michael Vickers who held the Festivity audience at Tapton Lock Festival in September. This is a musical line up you won’t want to miss.

🎨 Workshops

We will also be treated to interactive workshops by Level who will get audiences on their feet, with a series of hands-on, inclusive workshops throughout the day, including dance, making and visual arts activities

📖 Storytelling

Our partners, Adverse Camber, will bring storytelling artists to the venue for more inspirationally brilliant storytelling that will draw the audience in. Come along and here the tales these brilliant storytellers have to tell:

  • Julie Moss
  • Gabriella Gay

🎤 Spoken Word

Curated by Derby Poetry Festival, our spoken word programme will feature a powerful mix of performance poetry and storytelling through verse which will be bold, moving and memorable.

🖼️ Digital Exhibition

Step inside our digital gallery to experience work by 11 exceptional Derbyshire visual artists, including:

Also added to the digital exhibition is Eva Juusola, winner of the recent Derby Print Open 2025, who will be exhibiting her winning artwork Analogue vs Digital.

Stephen Munn, Director of Arts Derbyshire, said:
“What better way to bring the Festivity, taking over spaces across the county to bring local creative talent to local people. We’re delighted to carry on into the autumn with a continuation of the festivities at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum.”

Kevin Parker, Programme & Hire Manager at The Winding Wheel & Pomegranate Theatres said:

The Winding Wheel Theatre is pleased to be partnering with Arts Derbyshire’s to present Festivity in February 2026. This represents the first indoor venue since the summer festival tour and is the perfect opportunity to showcase the region’s artistic talent. We’re looking forward to presenting family friendly performances and workshops throughout the day including Music, The Spoken Word and The Visual Arts and they are all free of charge!

Come along and bring your friends, and enjoy the fun in this fabulous finale event.

Entry is free and open to all!

Let the Festivity begin!
