Primarily a printmaker but after recently gaining a masters degree in textiles I have begun to experiment with integrating textiles with my printmaking. The prints are build up in many layers of different techniques including monoprint, collagraphs, solar plates, woodblock and paper plate lithography.
The images on shown on this site are from a body of work inspired by a short biography written by an aunt about living in a flat inside the Friargate goods yard in Derby. I have incorporated some imagery from family history and memories of my own childhood.
Much of the work I create is inspired by the landscape around me. A quiet stroll along the river or a walk into the city, a weekend camping or a city break.
I am currently creating a new body of work for an exhibition entitled ‘Solace’ for Air Arts. this will be displayed in the Derby Royal Hospital from October 2021 – April 2022.
Above – A short film created on a walk from home during the lockdown 2020. This was shown as part of the Cabin Fever Artcore residency exhibition in Derby.
