Arts Derbyshire is supported by a team whose sole aim is to enrich the community through art and creativity. Although you may already have heard about and partaken in Arts Derbyshire projects, we would like to introduce you to the arts team behind Arts Derbyshire and learn about their work in their own words.
In this article, we get to know more about Hannah Barker, our Ops manager who keeps the team and the charity glued together.
Hannah Barker’s career began in libraries and the publishing industry following a degree gained in Fine Art (Printmaking: Artist’s Editions & Publications), before co-founding letterpress studio and art gallery The Smallprint Companywith husband Chris, in 2013. Hannah is also founder member of Creative Connections (est. 2017), a promotional hub for creatives and cultural activities that aims to support the cultural ecosystem of Derby.
Hannah provides freelance admin management for Arts Derbyshire, marketing for the education charity DTSA, is Research Manager and Heritage Projects with digital and creative economy consultancy firm The Fifth Sector and provides copy editing services for marcomms agency Sartorius Digital. Hannah is also founder member of Derby Social (previously Creative Connections, est. 2017), a central hub for creatives and cultural activities that aims to support the cultural ecosystem of Derby.
Hannah supports the Arts Derbyshire Trustees and Arts Team with the day-to-day operations of the charity including governance, finance, HR, recruitment, marcomms, meetings and events.
