Celebrate Summer with creativity and a delicious cream tea
Join us for a relaxing afternoon of making at the historic New Bath Hotel. Supported by award winning artist, tutor and maker, Liz Wellby, you’ll create a number of beautiful wire sculptures, before enjoying a delicious cream tea in The Fountain Restaurant.
Tea for two? Create beautiful wire sculpture.
In the capable hands of our tutor, Liz, you’ll learn how to create a range of beautiful, decorative pieces of sculpture, inspired by all things relating to tea. We’ll explore joining techniques, shaping and sculpting wire and your pieces will surely take pride of place in your home and be admired by many.
This workshop will suit folks with experience of different creative processes and absolute beginners.
About the tutor:
Liz Wellby is a versatile and experienced artist, with a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and subsequent post graduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where for over 30 years, she has lived and worked. Liz runs very well received creative workshops from her home studio – The Slipper Studio, on the edge of the Peak District and across the East Midlands, for museums, galleries, schools and Arts societies.
Time for your delicious tea in The Fountain Restaurant.
At the end of your creative workshop you’ll be able to sink into a comfortable chair or sofa and enjoy a delicious cream tea, with a choice of tea or coffee.
Sunday 28th June 2026, 1.30 – 5pm, with 12 places available, including: tuition, materials and use of equipment, a creative gift bag and a delicious cream tea.
