Patchwork Chevrons Made Easy

Event details

The Workshop

Your tutor, Melinda, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “Have you ever admired patchwork designs and wondered how they are created?

This workshop will show you how to use machine patchworking to create a chevron design. You will learn the importance of accurate measuring, cutting, and sewing to achieving a good result.

The session will be based on learning the Half Square Triangle technique which becomes the basis for many different designs in patchwork. Once you have learnt how to sew the fabrics together using this technique, we will assemble the squares you have made into a chevron pattern.

Once this stage is complete, we will then move on to quilt the panel using wadding before adding a backing fabric and binding the piece to finish it off.

This workshop is ideal for those with some sewing experience though full instruction will be given throughout.”

What to bring?

Anticipation to enjoy the whole experience and reading glasses if you need them!

What skills are needed?

Melinda feels this is best suited for crafters with some experience using a sewing machine. It would be ideal, if you own a sewing machine, to bring that with you as you will be familiar with how it works. Please choose the ticket that highlights you will be bringing your own machine.
