What's on
Autistic young writers who want to make new friends, grow in confidence and develop their poetry skills: Look now further! Our free, online creative writing group for Autistic 14- to 17-year-olds starts soon.
If your young writer joins in the fun, they can look forward to weekly creative writing exercises to boost their poetry knowhow as well as the opportunity to share their writing with their friends (only if they want to—there is never any pressure!) Leading each session is queer and Neurodivergent poet Georgie Brooke whose work has been exhibited in Left Bank Leeds, T’Art and Contact Theatre. Georgie is devoted to empowering young people through poetry, art and playfulness. They can’t wait to meet your young writer!
Because all workshops take place online via Zoom, there is never any pressure to use the video or microphone function if your young writer would prefer not to—they don’t even have to use the chat function at all if they’d rather enjoy the session without talking. Young writers are encouraged to take part in our workshops in a way that suits their needs.
Workshops take place online on Thursdays from 6 – 7.30 pm, twice a month and are free to join, starting in October and with the last session taking place in April 2026—see full dates below.

Don’t worry if your young writer can’t make every session or you don’t sign up until later! Our workshops are designed as standalone sessions, so your young writer doesn’t need to come along to every single one if they are unable to do so.
