Your tutor, Carol, is looking forward to welcoming you and sharing the relaxing and creative process of needle felting. In this friendly, hands-on workshop, you’ll create your own sleeping animal wool sculpture, choosing from inspiration such as a fox, badger, squirrel, rabbit, cat or dog.
Learn the basics of needle felting techniques using wool fibres
Create a sleeping, curled-up animal sculpture from scratch
Use specialist felting needles to shape and form wool
Build your piece step-by-step, from core structure to finished detail
Different types of wool, fleece and fibre
The origins of the ancient craft of felt-making
How to sculpt form using a wool core
Adding colour, pattern and surface detail
Techniques for shaping, contouring and refining your work

• Crafters interested in needle felting or textile art
No experience is needed. If you can hold a pencil, you can needle felt.
Carol will guide you through each step, offering demonstrations, support and encouragement throughout.

• Arrival: From 9:30am for a warm welcome and a cuppa
• Group size: Limited to 8 people for a friendly, supportive atmosphere
£37 + 82p card fee
This includes all the materials needed to create your needle felted sleeping animal and refreshments during the morning.
This workshop is all about creativity rather than perfection. You’ll have the freedom to experiment, follow your ideas and enjoy the process of making. Whether you choose a fox, rabbit or your own favourite animal, you’ll be supported to create something uniquely yours.
