Coinciding with the famous Hopton Hall Snowdrop display, Snowdrops presents fresh interpretations of the enduring winter flower. Across all media, artists capture its quiet symbolism of hope and renewal. with the celebrated Hopton Hall snowdrop display, Snowdrops offers a rich and varied exploration of this much-loved winter flower. Known botanically as Galanthus from the Greek gala meaning “milk” and anthos meaning “flower” the snowdrop has long been associated with purity, resilience, and the promise of new beginnings.
Serving as a shared point of departure, the artists respond to the snowdrop across a range of media and approaches, from close observation of the natural world to more symbolic and interpretative works. Collectively, the exhibition reflects on the snowdrop’s quiet strength and understated beauty, inviting moments of contemplation on hope, renewal, and the subtle shift from winter into spring.
