TALES OF FIVE SONGS – Afternoon Tea Concert

Thursday 18th September 7:30pm
Chris Wood

On stage Chris has the air of a craftsman who no longer needs to be precious about his art. Without any apparent effort he reaches deep into an enviable repertoire of songs before revealing another gem. His writing is permeated with love and wry intelligence, uplifting and challenging as he celebrates the sheer one-thing-after-anotherness of life.

Award winning Chris Wood needs little introduction to those in the Folk World. Back for the New Mills Festival and Winner of 6 BBC Folk Awards, he’s played with The Royal Shakespeare Company and was a key member of The Imagined Village along with Billy Bragg, Martin and Eliza Carthy. A wise and soulful craftsman, his concerts are a cliche free zone.

Tickets £17.50 available from Spring Bank Arts Mon to Fri 9:30-12:30 on 01663 308202, on the door and online.
Doors and Bar open 7pm

A Regular at folk festivals, club performer and host Paul Carbuncle is heading to New Mills armed with songs of Kent (via Nottingham), songs of Nottingham (via Kent), and a Jim Dunlop 1mm plectrum.
