Long-standing folk-rock band Home Service are playing a ‘Live Transmission’ tour across the UK in July and they are playing in Burton Upon Trent.
Four decades after taking the English folk scene by storm, Home Service have retained their unique sound – an electrifying fusion of traditional songs, pulsating folk-rock and trenchant brass.
Home Service was originally formed in 1981 from the Albion Band line-up that produced the classic folk-rock album Rise Up Like the Sun.
Well-known English folk singer Bob Fox is the band’s new lead vocalist and the eight-piece band also features guitarist Graeme Taylor and virtuoso saxophonist and flute player Andy Findon.
Many of their songs are anthemic observations on the inequalities of modern Britain and are as relevant as ever today.
Home Service released a new live album, A Live Transmission, last year – their first recording with the current line-up.
