Writing East Midlands is seeking writers with lived experience of Autism to facilitate creative writing workshops as part of their Beyond The Spectrum programme for Autistic people. Opportunities are available for Lead and Shadow Writers of workshops for both adults and young people.
Lead Writers will be expected to facilitate monthly creative writing workshops, collate evaluative data, complete relevant training, collect suitable work from the group to be used in an anthology or similar output, and lead and attend a celebration event. Shadow Writers will be expected to support the Lead Writer’s responsibilities, as well as providing support for participants and managing the technical element of the online Zoom workshops.

Join expert editor and experienced author Victoria Villaseñor for a one-day intensive course centred on editing short stories.
With a focus on you, your words, and your personal writerly ambitions, this workshop will provide a solid day of editing, feedback, and discussion. Over four hours, you will have the opportunity to share a pre-written short story piece by piece, receive rigorous feedback from your tutor and peers, and discuss how to keep your writing tight and impactful.
Our aim is for you to walk away with a polished short story, knowledge on how to make your writing shine, and connections with likeminded writers who you can continue to share your work with.
Course fee: £40 (£10 p/h)
