We are now open for entries to next year’s Fringe from July 8-26 and are happy to confirm that, thanks to careful management, we have been able to keep the entry fees the same for the FOURTH year running!
2026 Entry Fees
£55 – December – end February
£77 – February – end March
£88 – March onwards
Sunday April 19 is the deadline to appear in the printed programme and we encourage all our entrants to enter by this date for maximum publicity. Remember anyone can enter the Fringe! Please help us spread the word! You can see events as they come in here.
Anyone wishing to appear with the managed venue Underground must apply through Underground’s website – rather than registering with the Fringe. Underground is pleased to be back running venues again for 2026. Last year they managed two spaces – on Spring Gardens and at the Working Men’s Club.
Detailed information including a venues list can be found on the Take Part page on our website. It is best to check in often with these pages in order to stay up to date.
Copyright: We are in an increasingly litigious world. Copyright covers a wide range of works including photographs, plays, music, dance, spoken word, graphic design, costume etc. There is more info here and you can read our own easy-to-read guidance here.
It is essential that entrants are aware that they have cleared copyright on the images they plan to submit, and that by entering the Fringe they give us permission to use their images. If they have licensed an image from someone else, they have to prove to us that the image is also licensed for website use in perpetuity. Under no circumstances can entrants use a third party image without licensing. Any infringements are the responsibility of the entrant.
Community Links: Every year we try to reach into various communities in Buxton that may not otherwise be able to access Fringe activities. We encourage our performers and artists to get involved and offer a personalised service to help facilitate this. Find out more
Thanks to everyone who attended our Annual General Meeting at the Pump Room on November 12th. Ian Bowns, now in his second year as Fringe Chair, announced that former Fringe Secretary Carole Garner was to become Vice Chair with committee member Julie Alexander becoming the new Secretary and Sandra Jowett continuing in her role as Treasurer. Former Vice Chair Jeanette Hamilton remains a key member of the team as Friends Co-ordinator. The event had a new more sociable feel this year. Read our press release. You may also want to see our fun photos of the event.
Following our analysis of this year’s Fringe, we are delighted to tell you that combined performer and audience expenditure boosted the local economy by nearly £300,000 in 2025. Respondents to our audience survey were overwhelmingly enthusiastic with the average approval rating being 4.7 out of 5 – the highest ever. Entrants were also highly complimentary about the support they received from our team of volunteers. Read more about our findings and thanks again for your help with audience and entrants’ surveys.
It is now easier than ever to become a Fringe Friend thanks to our handy online form available via our Friends page on the website.
You can also make one-off or more regular donations.
These help us enormously – to keep the costs of entering the Fringe low, to provide free events and to continue to support our entrants in delivering cultural events across our local community and beyond. Any contributions are very much appreciated and every penny goes directly into improving what we can offer.
Perhaps you can help with providing reasonably priced accommodation for our performers? If you are interested in being featured on the list we send to our entrants, it would really help us. Please send a message to digs@buxtonfringe.org.uk.
We are delighted to have welcomed several new people at the AGM! If you would like to join our committee please email info@buxtonfringe.org.uk. It is fine to come along to a few meetings before you commit!
NEW: We are also looking at ways to involve volunteers throughout the year on an ad hoc basis without them necessarily needing to join the committee so please contact secretary@buxtonfringe.org.uk if that sounds like something you would be interested in.
