Mentors Wanted!

Create & Connect is a new leadership development programme for disabled working class artists and producers living and working in the East Midlands.

 

Thanks to Arts Council England funding, this year-long pilot programme of activity will work with a cohort of East Midlands based disabled artists and producers who want to develop their skills, knowledge, profile and practice in the arts. The programme aims to support the development and progression leading to increased opportunities and sustained employment in the arts.

 

We are now recruiting for experienced Mentors who are passionate about supporting disabled artists and producers and who can bring a wealth of tools, contacts and experience to individuals to develop and potentially input into individuals life changing impact.

 

Mentors will:

  • Have at least 5 years experience of professional arts work in their chosen field, and or ideally within a senior role/s.
  • Are passionate about supporting disabled and working class artists.
  • Are ideally from, live, or work in the East Midlands, or who have a strong connection to it.
  • Have a good understanding of, and are committed to the values that support equity, equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Are available at least once a month for online mentoring sessions, and are willing to attend a culmination event in Feb/March 2027 in Leicester.

Deadline for applications: 6th April 2026

 

Fees £80 per 1 hour session per mentee (incl of planning) max 12 sessions

Between 10 – 12 sessions per mentee.

Please note mentors will be matched with mentees based on applications. There is no guarantee that mentors will be matched in this cohort.

 

Create & Connect aims to support the progression and development of artists and producers, empowering them to create and develop their artistic and producing ideas, identify their needs and opportunities regionally and nationally, develop skills and training,explore goals and ambitions, build confidence and raise their profile, and explore long term strategic planning to support sustainable progression and employment in the arts.

 

Sessions are held online with one opportunity to meet in person.
