Local Singer songwriter Hannah Brine performs at Buxton Fringe

Singer-songwriter Hannah Brine is playing two special gigs as part of the Buxton Fringe this Friday, and again on July 24th, as part of her launch Blue Sky Now, album tour.

Hannah who lives in New Mills also runs the community choir High Peak Singers. Last year she was awarded ‘Best Solo Vocal’ at the Buxton Fringe. This year she is performing with pianist Dean Stockdale.

Hannah has released her debut album Blue Sky Now and has had support from BBC introducing and numerous plays on various BBC Local Radio stations as part of the BBC Introducing scheme.Songs from the album were co-written with Emily Phillips (a British songwriter who has had top 10 hits on both sides of the Atlantic & has worked with many artists including Florence and the Machine, Sigrid, John Newman, Rizzle Kicks, Big Time Rush, DNCE, and Nicole Scherzinger) and Hannah’s long term collaborator Michael Garvin (23 number 1 hits, including J Lo Waiting for Tonight and George Benson’s Never Give Up on a Good Thing).

Inspired by the Great American Songbook, with a voice & song writing style likened to Carole King, Norah Jones and Rumer, Hannah writes & performs lush ballads & lively jazz anthems, telling tales of growth & change, of life & loss. Hannah is also supporting Rumer at Buxton Opera House on July 20th.

Hannah says:

“ I always love performing at the Buxton Fringe – the audiences are wonderful, and the Fringe organisers are very supportive. Its great to be able to perform my songs to locals, many of whom have followed my journey since I moved here 3 years ago”
