Artist profile
Lisa has been practising art making since training as a painter at St Martins school of art in 1986. She practices artwork that explores drawing and painting processes and her work focuses on narratives that explore environmental and womens issues.
She utilises symbols to create allegories where human figures appear as archetypes, often in small groups in relationship to significant places or objects.
She works within a tradition of females painters who explore female identity in their work.
She will be moving to North Derbyshire at the end of the year 2025 and is looking forward to carrying on with her visual art practice.
Her exhibition experience includes being finalist in the Wing art award 2021 and the Doncaster art fair 2021. She had solo shows at Rugby art gallery, Gallery at St Martins, Lincoln and Rooftop arts centre, Corby in 2023, Willoughby memorial gallery in Lincolnshire 2024.
She exhibited work in group shows at Gallery 21, Snape Maltings, The Bank arts centre in Suffolk and Milestone gallery New Mills, Derbyshire in 2025
