Creative Genre

• Janet is a retired teacher and has a small studio in her garden at home. Working almost entirely in watercolour she produces realistic pictures that are mostly landscapes of places she has enjoyed visiting. She only sells original paintings as she strongly believes a print is not worthy of selling. Janet really enjoys making sure that each picture has little details that bring a picture to life. She has a background of sailing so many of her pictures are coastal with boats included for their beautiful shapes and shadows they have.

Work Undertaken

• Janet has taken on a number of commissions in the past and has exhibited her work at Leabrooks Art Complex
• Somercoates; and at The Derbyshire Makers’ Shop at Peak Village. She has a small studio in her garden which doubles as “The Little Gallery”. This is open most weekends or by prior arrangement. A knock on her door will also find her mostly ready to show you her work.
