Artist profile
Andrew Brooks is a High Peak–based photographer, filmmaker and digital artist. He specialises in immersive photography and video projects that capture landscapes and places in vivid detail. Much of his work explores Derbyshire and the Peak District, and can be viewed on his website.
His most recent exhibition was a collaboration with poet and broadcaster Ian McMillan. Together they created The Songs the Morning Sang, an exhibition about the morning stroll and finding beauty in the places we live as daylight arrives. This project was supported by an Arts Council England Project Grant, and shown at The Portico Library, Manchester, and Rock Mill Centre, New Mills. The project also included workshops, creative walks, and the first World Early Stroll Day.
Andrew has shown work in many national and international exhibitions, including his Secret Cities exhibition series, which has been shown in Manchester, Aberdeen, Zoetermeer and Sittard in the Netherlands.
Alongside his personal practice, Andrew undertakes photography commissions for organisations including Jodrell Bank, Manchester Art Gallery, Imperial War Museum North and Channel 4. Explore these commissioned projects here.
