Discover the beauty of traditional Japanese-inspired textile crafting and create your own stylish and practical Japanese Rice Bag.
Your tutor, Angela, will guide you through a relaxed and enjoyable workshop where you’ll learn how to construct this versatile fabric bag, inspired by traditional Japanese rice-carrying bags. Simple and elegant, these bags are perfect for everyday use, gifts or simply as a beautiful handmade accessory.
Whether you’re new to sewing or have some experience, you’ll enjoy creating a unique bag that reflects your own choice of fabrics and style.
• Beginners with some basic sewing confidence
• Anyone who enjoys sewing, textiles or embroidery
• People looking to create a practical handmade item
• Those wanting a relaxed and creative workshop experience
No advanced sewing or embroidery experience is required. You’ll be guided through each stage and supported throughout the day.
You’ll leave with your own handmade Japanese Rice Bag, decorated with embroidery and ready to use or gift.
• Reading glasses if needed
• Your lunch, or money to buy food locally
• If you prefer, you may bring your own sewing machine (optional)
Most importantly, bring your creativity and enjoy the process.
• Time: 10am – 2:00pm
• Arrival: From 9:30am for a warm welcome and a cuppa
• Date: Friday 17th July
£35 + £0.79 card fee.
This includes all materials required to create your Japanese Rice Bag and refreshments during the workshop (excluding lunch).
