Event details

This new group will be open to adults (18+) with learning disabilities and their companions or carers led by trained Shared Reading volunteers and library staff.

We have a whole range of wonderful picture books that have been co-created by people with lived experience of learning disabilities and produced by national charity Beyond Words, including from ‘A Trip to the Beach’ to ‘A New Job’.
This very special Beyond Words Shared Reading group will bring people together to share word-free picture stories, thoughts and ideas in a friendly and inclusive setting. Our Shared Reading sessions aim to improve everyone’s sense of wellbeing and there is sure to be lots of laughter along the way.
