The Dronfield Heritage Trust is looking to recruit a Creative Manager based in Dronfield to manage the programming at Dronfield Hall Barn. The Barn is a historic community building dating back to 1430. The Barn was restored, extended and opened to the public in 2016 with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The Barn has a coffee shop and gardens and hosts exhibitions, events, festivals, weddings and corporate clients. We work with our team of volunteers and partners to create a vibrant community hub for Dronfield and District.

Job Description
- Be responsible for the overall programming strategy at Dronfield Hall Barn including group bookings, events, exhibitions and festivals. Work with internal and external partners to deliver the programme.
- Liaise with the Commercial Manager and Buildings Manager to deliver a holistic approach to programming that takes account of the commercial bookings.
- Coordinate the volunteer team to deliver the day to day management of the Barn, deliver events, gardens, research, exhibitions and archive.
- Welcome and induct volunteers and provide training, support and information.
- Liaison with local groups, societies and organisations in Dronfield and District and promote the Barn.
- Be the Creative Lead for the Dronfield Arts Festival and work with the external contractor to deliver the annual event and maintain the presence throughout the year.
- Work with volunteers to develop publications, merchandise and exhibition
- Develop potential future income streams, work with the commercial manager including bid writing
- Manage the marketing of the event programme including through the website, newsletters and social media
- Identify future projects that would benefit the Barn and the wider community.
- Report to the trustees and be part of the strategy team.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of project management; planning, delivery and evaluation.
- A qualification or experience in a related heritage, education or interpretive discipline and/or experience of developing engagement in a heritage site.
- Creative flair and an understanding of interpretive techniques to create engaging content and support learning for a wide range of ages and abilities.
- Experience of managing volunteers with volunteer run organisations and an understanding of the needs of volunteers.
- The motivation and discipline to work independently and also be an effective team player.
- Excellent communication skills; confidence in dealing with a wide range of audiences and through a variety of media including digital.
- Understanding of heritage funding options and developing and generating income streams.
- The ability to be a strong advocate for the Trust in the wider community
- Ability to ensure that a high level of customer service is delivered consistently
- Flexibility to adapt to situations and problem solve in a busy and varied environment.
