Wet Felting Garden Flowers @ Our Crafty Place

Event details

The Workshop

Liz is looking forward to welcoming you to this wonderful afternoon and says “This workshop will give you all the basic information and skills to learn the technique of wet felting. This method of felting uses soap, warm water and agitation to tangle fibres together to create felt.

In approximately 2.5 hours you will explore making a colourful pretty flower (with a stem) using wool fibres and silk, you will be guided through choosing colours and textures and the wet felting process to sculpture felt. We will look at how to further enhance your work with embellishments such as beads and embroidery to add further surface texture and detail. You will also receive PDF notes to take away with you for reference later.

You do not need any prior experience and you will be provided with all the necessary materials and equipment. NB: Please bring along an old hand size towel.

Felt is surprisingly strong and no two pieces will ever be the same, this is the time to embrace your creativity and add your personal mark!

The workshop is suitable for adults of all levels, from complete beginners to those with experience. Please note: A certain degree of upper arm fitness is required and you may find it easier standing up while felting.”

Kate and Viv are so looking forward to this workshop … watch out, we will be lurking in the room ‘pretending to help’ and might just have to have a go too!
