What's on

Needle Felt Bunting @ Our Crafty Place

Event details

The Workshop

Your tutor, Rachel, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “Have a go at creating some of your own Felt Bunting or make them as a gift for someone. Your string of felt bunting will be made from Wool fibres and felted by hand using the needle felting method. This is a dry felting process so no soap or water in this Workshop!

We use cookie cutters to help form the shape of your bunting. You can go with traditional triangles, or select from a wide range of shapes such as hearts and stars. For the dog lovers, you might like to use the bone shapes!

Once the shape is formed Wool fibres and yarns are needle felted onto the surface to create your own patterns. Finally, your completed shapes are threaded onto a cord to join your bunting and prepare it for hanging. I will guide you through the process, providing all materials and equipment needed for the Workshop. You’ll be pleased to know that a broad range of coloured yarns and fibres will be available so you can let your imagination run wild. The felt bunting workshop is very relaxed so be prepared to enjoy a good natter with your fellow felters.”

What is the cost?

£75 + £1.40 card fee. This includes all the materials needed to make your bunting and refreshments during the day (excluding lunch).

How many places are available?

To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 8.

What are the timings?

This is a relaxed, fun-filled, full-day running from 10am to 4pm.

Our purple front door will be open from 9.30am so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Rachel and your fellow crafters and grab a cuppa before you start.

What skills are needed?

No experience is necessary.

You will be using a needle on a handle to bind the wool fabrics together. The cookie cutters should / will protect you from pricking your finger with the needle (said from experience of someone who is clumsy and hasn’t pricked themselves!)

What to bring on the day?
