What's on
Your tutor, Helen, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “This session will introduce you to the jigsaw method of printing with soft-cut lino. You’ll be printing all your colours in one hit to save lots of drying time. I will provide everything you need to spend a creative and inspiring day carving the lino and printing your chosen colours, to produce unique prints to take away.
No prior knowledge is required as this method is suitable for any level, whether a complete beginner or an experienced artist.
Please bring along some images of landscapes, either your own drawings or photos. Typically: landscapes, seascapes, beach scenes, or any patterns, or designs, that can be divided easily into sections, which can be cut out. If you bring a few ideas along with you, I will be able to advise on suitable designs and help you choose which would best suit the process.
I will also help you to choose the right tools for your design and explain the different options. There will be a range of inks to choose from in all the popular colours that can be mixed together to suit your image and mood!”
Anticipation to enjoy the whole experience!
Specific to this workshop:
No experience is necessary. To hold the lino cutter is fairly easy, you then just need a fair degree of finger strength to apply pressure through the tool to remove small sections of your lino material. You also need to hold onto the lino with your other hand to keep it steady.
This is a relaxed full-day running from 10am to 4pm.
Our purple front door will be open from 9.30am so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Helen and your fellow crafters and grab a cuppa before you start.
To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 8.
£74 + £1.38 card fee. This includes all the materials needed to make your jigsaw lino prints, drinks and home-made biscuits during the day (excluding lunch).
