Your tutor, Suzanne, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “Join us this Halloween for a relaxing and inspiring Bobbin Lace Owl Pendant Workshop! This is your chance to explore the beautiful heritage craft of bobbin lace making in the cozy, creative setting of Our Crafty Place.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, this workshop is suitable for all skill levels. You’ll learn the basics of point-lace stitches using traditional lacemaking tools, and by the end of the session, you’ll have created your very own handcrafted owl pendant — a perfect way to show off your new skills!

Bobbin lace has a rich history dating back over 500 years, and this workshop brings it into the modern world in a fun and accessible way. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow crafters, relax, and create something truly unique.

I have been making lace since the age of 7 and am passionate about sharing this beautiful craft with others. I adapt traditional techniques for todays lifestyles, making it easy and enjoyable for anyone to learn.”

No experience is necessary. Suzanne says that if you can pick up a pencil (and not have to write with it) then you will be able to do Bobbin Lace! You will be attaching the lace on a beautiful ‘glass cabachon body’ (in your choice of colour) of the owl and then glueing it onto your metal setting.
This is a relaxed afternoon running from 1pm to 4pm.
Our purple front door will be open from 12.30pm so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Suzanne and your fellow crafters and grab a cuppa before you start.
To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 12.
£35 + 79p card fee. This includes all the materials needed to make your owl pendant, drinks and home-made biscuits during the afternoon.
We want you to go home with a spring in your step and feel really good about what you have achieved. To make sure we can thoroughly look after you during your workshop please fill in your booking form with all the things that will help, be it your favourite milk, or any extra support you may require. Please also let us know of allergies that we may need to highlight to your fellow crafters e.g. nuts, perfume. Many thanks.
