What's on
This workshop is a 2-day course: 7th and 21st November
Your tutor, Helen, is looking forward to meeting you and says: “This method of printing is a head-spinner! But approached in these calm and peaceful surroundings, it will be a positive experience. Spread over two sessions, it will be suitable for those who have already dabbled in the basics of lino printing and are ready for a new challenge.
I am very experienced in the ways of reduction printing and will be teaching you everything you need to produce a set of two-colour prints or perhaps multi-coloured prints if you use coloured paper. Using traditional lino and oil-based inks, you will be using an uncomplicated image or pattern and printing it over two weeks. This will enable you to produce your first reduction print to take away!
Please note that we will be using solvent-based cleaner but oil can be used instead if you let me know by 3rd November.”
Anticipation to enjoy the whole experience!
Specific to this workshop:
Only basic skills required. Holding the lino cutter is fairly easy, you then just need a fair degree of finger strength to apply pressure through the tool to remove small sections of your lino material. You also need to hold onto the lino with your other hand to keep it steady.
Both dates are a full-day running from 10am to 4pm.
Our purple front door will be open from 9.30am so we can welcome you in, you can get to meet Helen and your fellow crafters and grab a cuppa before you start.
To ensure the quality of your personal experience, the group size is limited to 8.
£155 + £2.61 card fee. This includes all the materials needed to make your prints, drinks and home-made biscuits during the 2 days (excluding lunch)
