New Mills Festival (9th to 22nd September) is an annual jam-packed two week long celebration. The 2022 programme is crammed with an eclectic mix of music, community events, family fun, screenings, talks, walks and arts. There is something to be marvelled at every day!
This year the magical Lantern Procession returns on 24th with a Street Party featuring stilt walkers, fire eaters, food vendors and live musicians throughout the evening.
Our launch event on the 10th Sept is Black Umfolosi, an energetic and completely different style of musical entertainment. Black Umfolosi combine music and dance, both traditional and derived from Southern African origins. Much more than a performing group, they’ll also be including local youngsters who’ll have the awesome experience of learning direct from them prior to the performance.
