Japan Fest Welcomes Asia – Cromford Mills

Event details

For the first time in Cromford, enter a celebration of Asian culture with “Japan Fast Welcomes Asia”, hosted by Otaku World LTD at the magnificent Cromford Mills. This extension of Japan Fest will go beyond just Japanese culture to celebrate all kinds of Asian culture, from a dedicated team wishing to bring Asian culture to Cromford.

Prepare to be blown away with some awe-inspiring performances, such as the soulful melodies of L J English, the only British traditional Enka Singer. The beautiful sound of the Japanese instrument, the Koto, played by Sumie Kent will enhance your enjoyment as her music flows throughout the venue. Let DJ Mani, an outstanding DJ who mixes Japanese and Asian city beats immerse you into a sonic journey encapsulating the history of Japanese music.

We also have extremely fun activities! Learn fun Japanese traditions such as fox mask painting where you can delve into the intricate art and create vibrant representations of fox spirits. Learn how to play the strategic game called Shogi, where tradition and tactics become one. With the guidance of Robert, who has professionally been playing for over 10 years! Dress up in the tradition with our Kimono Try On booth, where you can adorn beautiful Japanese traditional garments.

This amazing experience is complimented by handpicked stalls, helping to enhance the rich environment of Japan Fest Welcomes Asia. Our mission is to share more than just Japanese culture, but to showcase all of Asia perfectly for all to see. Japan Fest continues to bring forth Japanese tradition whilst expanding to a bigger group of cultures to explore together.

Don’t miss your chance to enjoy the rich environment of all Asian culture with Japan Fest Welcomes Asia – An event set out to expand your cultural exploration across all of Asia.
