Come to Creative Melbourne Gallery to join Stevie Davies for this fused glass workshop using a variety of pre-cut glass materials including iridescent glass, rods, frit and frit balls to transform into a free standing seascape wave sculpture that looks great on a windowsill or mantle.
During this fun and informal session you will be given all the shimmering glass needed to come up with your own glass wave design approx 34cm x 7.5cm. With a focus on colour and texture, your abstract form with evoke memories of holidays, crashing waves and seaside views. Usually I fire each piece twice so it will slump into a free standing wave form but you could also create a flat hanging or a piece that you could frame in some way. Don’t worry we will talk it all through and if you get a little stuck I will have lots of inspirational images on hand. The main thing to remember is to have fun!
You will play with different types of decorative glass elements and learn a little about how the kiln firing will change them. Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, finish and clean up for you. The plan is to deliver all the work back to the gallery for collection approximately three weeks later.
Refreshments will be provided, cold drinks and biscuits.
