Make a date for Melbourne Festival Art & Architecture Trail on 14 & 15 September!
This year the Trail will feature 150 Artists exhibiting in 65 venues in the historic centre of Melbourne, pick up the Trail Guide, which has been £5 for over 18 years, to follow the map and find all the artists.
The Festival has a great reputation for the Creative Arts and attracts a huge variety of artists and creatives who exhibit each year they are all from the Midlands, the majority of the artists live or work in Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire making it a great destination for people who want to support local artists, with the added bonus that it is easy to catch up with the artists near to home later in the year.
Don’t forget to visit Creative Melbourne Gallery (1 on the Trail!) there are some amazing artists based at the gallery and studio artists – Maritime Artist Patrick Twiss Prentice, international sculptor April Young and Live Event Photographer Paul Dixon are looking forward to meeting everyone in their studios. Also in the Gallery you can meet Jenny Stevenson and get a preview of Reviving Melbourne her project showcasing Melbourne’s industrial past and Fine Art Photographer Beth Edge who both recently completed Creative Melbourne’ Spaces to Create mentoring programme.
Most of the Artists and Makers who you have seen in Gallery throughout the year will be exhibiting at this years Melbourne Festival Art & Architecture Trail on 14 & 15 September.
Food is important on any day out and all the Melbourne eateries will be open along with fundraiser café’s in churches and popup food venues at Melbourne Assembly Rooms and Castle Farm! Each afternoon look / listen out for live Music at the Busk Stops alongside the Festival food.
Another highlight this year will be an exhibition in Melbourne Parish Church of work created in the local community as part of the Creative Melbourne BLOSSOMING programme of creative community workshops. If you missed the workshops there will be drop-in BLOSSOMING workshops at the Family Festival in the Rectory Garden each day with craft activities, Music Time with Tracey Ridley and Poetry Time with Attie Lime.
The 2024 Melbourne Festival Art & Architecture Trail will be open from 10am-5pm on 14 & 15 September. The Festival is still a not for profit event organised by local volunteers which has established Melbourne as a destination for people who enjoy art, If you would like to join the Festival Volunteers you will get FREE ENTRY so why not sign up as a Festival Volunteer NOW!
If you are heading for the Festival from out of Melbourne there are two Festival Car Parks at Tori & Ben’s Farm Shop and Melbourne Schools. Other great options are to cycle in or don’t forget the Arriva 2 and Diamond Bus EM9.
