Film Cuts Club

Film Cuts Club is on its final term of the year – but still open to new young people aged 8+ with any additional educational or support needs. So if you know anyone who would benefit from a supportive friendly environment to try out filmmaking, let them know!
We’ve spent the year sampling new skills like model making, drama & comedy writing, sewing, editing, sound recording and all the elements of pre-production, production and post-production. Everyone is now working on finishing pieces off for our Film Screening on 15th July, so watch this space for an invitation!
The club runs 11.30 – 3.30 on Saturdays in term time, at The Vineyard, Charlestown Road, Whitfield, Glossop, SK13 8JN.
Remaining dates are: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th May, 10th, 17th, 24th June and 1st, 8th and 15th July.

Tall Tales

Tall Tales has reached its 10th season!
Our performing arts project for children and young people aged 8+ started in 2014, with the year we produced Blue John, from the book by Berlie Doherty. Since then we’ve worked with a young steering group and the project has grown and evolved so that now our final show is 100% young people’s original ideas and work. Last year we made Aunty’s Antidote and this year our theme is Under the Ocean – which some have said is a bit tricky living in an entirely land-locked county! But we like a challenge.
We ran four days of creative mayhem over Easter, and now we start our annual tea-time and evening sessions on Gamesley and Fairfield.
Music and Arts start on 3rd and 4th May, and will be led by Lucy & Gareth on Wednesdays 6–8pm at Fairfield Scout Hut and Thursdays in Gamesley Community Centre, from 3.30 – 5pm for
8+ junior ages and 5 – 6.30pm for secondary age.
