The High Tor Players are an amateur dramatic group from Matlock that was established in 1937… so they are nearly 90 years old!
This year for the first time in their history along with the usual 3 nights they are also staging a relaxed performance of their Autumn production Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen and adapted for the stage by Simon Reade.
The High Tor players especially welcome people with visible and non visible disabilities, people within the Matlock care community and anyone who may find a standard theatre visit overwhelming. The Saturday matinee’s relaxed performance allows for noise and movement in the auditorium. They will have a chill-out room and a touch table for their sensory seeking patrons.
The tickets for the relaxed Matinee performance have been funded by their kind friends at Lovedays Solicitors. If you go to the High Tor Players website the contact details for the relaxed performance are there or you can email Alicia directly at alicia@guidad.co.uk Booking is essential for the relaxed performance.
The High Tor players have received funding from the Derbyshire Dales Local Project fund to have an Accessloo changing places toilet on site for the matinee performance and they have also received funding from the Ernest Bailey fund to have a sensory table for people to engage with.
The show features lots of love, laughter and dancing and is a thoroughly uplifting event – perfect for the autumn evenings!
