We are delighted to invite you to Phil Okwedy’s The Gods Are All Here show, which is touring to 19 venues, 20 performances across England this October and November.

Phil’s brilliant show, The Gods Are All Here, starts at Hastings Storytelling Festival on Monday 16 October, then we head to Wednesbury, (Birmingham), Wolverhampton, Poole, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Derby, Cambridge and London, and then in November we head out to rural parts of England and tour to village halls, community centres and village hubs including Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Somerset, County Durham and Northumberland.

Sparked by the discovery of a series of letters from his father in Nigeria to his mother in Wales, The Gods Are All Here is a moving, funny and warm-hearted, one-man performance from first-class storyteller, Phil Okwedy.

This captivating storytelling show skilfully weaves myth, song, folktales and legends of the African diaspora with an astonishing personal story that uncovers Phil’s experiences of growing up as a child of dual heritage in 1960 & 70’s Wales.

Charting the time of life when children are said to view their parents as gods, but never having actually lived with them, Phil considers if his parents were, in fact, the gods he had imagined them to be…

Exploring equality, freedom, racism, family and growing up without your birth parents, in an enthralling performance, you’ll discover The Gods Are All Here is both timeless and very much a story of now!

Exciting Updates for Dark Peak Photo Festival

Dark Peak Photo Festival have had over 3500 visitors across Victoria Hall and The Old Brewery Space this year, received over 250 applicants for the open call, and displayed photography by 200 photographers across both venues in Glossop. Retail and hospitality businesses also reported a marked increase in footfall on the high street. Additionally, 189 people took part in walks and workshops.
