Music Hub Investment Programme: join a focus group

Last week, we shared more details about the Music Hub Investment Programme, including its timeline and how current Hub Lead Organisations will continue to be funded until the new Programme is in place in September 2024. We also updated on our sector conversation and consultation phase, which we’re continuing with focus groups and a survey in January 2023 so the experiences of everyone working within music education can help to shape the future of Music Hubs.

You need to register your interest to take part in a focus group by Sunday 11 December. Read on to learn more about how you can get involved.

What are the focus groups and survey about?

The National Plan for Music Education sets out an ambition for there to be fewer, more strategic Hub Lead Organisations, building a wider range of strong partnerships so that all children and young people receive high quality music education in every local area.

The Department for Education has confirmed that it intends for this to be achieved via prescribed geographic areas, and we want your knowledge and experience to help to shape these new Music Hub geographies. We’re inviting everyone within and beyond the music, education, youth, creative and cultural communities to share their thoughts and feedback through our focus groups and survey.

You can read the Department for Education’s thinking behind future geographies for Music Hubs on our website.
