Enjoy The Journey

Renowned Buxton artist, Louise Jannetta, creates an eclectic compendium of mixed media art, using a variety of techniques and media to create her artwork.  The exhibition will focus on highly textured paintings, utilising a haptic evocation of memory and place, reflected in both abstract work and her popular theme of trees.

The image shows parts of two new paintings: a textured tree oil painting ‘Autumn Leaves’, and ‘Another Way’ a mixed media collage inspired by the Japanese art of Momigami and the Korean art of Joomchi which also includes mulberry bark papers.

The exhibition will be available to view at the Courtney Gallery during the ASHBOURNE FESTIVAL as a fringe event.

If you cannot make it to the gallery, browse the online exhibition that will be on our website from 4th of June.

SUMMER EXHIBITION  and ASHBOURNE FESTIVAL
The Ashbourne Festival opens every year with a Summer Exhibition that showcases the rich and varied art created by local artists in the area. Professional artists are also invited to display their work, many of whom regularly exhibit at the Courtney Gallery, e.g. Kim Seaton, Colin Halliday, Kerri Pratt, Giles Davies, Ian Palmer and Lewis Noble.

The Courtney Gallery sponsors the prizes for the Summer Exhibition through a cash prize for the winner of the people’s vote and exhibiting the professional winner’s artwork, as part of our ongoing community support.

Courtney Gallery is a member of the Own Art scheme, which means that you can buy the art and craft you love and pay for it in monthly, interest-free instalments.
Own Art is a national initiative, supported by Arts Council England, which enables anyone and everyone to start their own art collection.
Applying for an Own Art loan is easy! The first stage is the difficult bit – deciding what to buy. Take a look at our wonderful range of artworks and see how easy it is to take it home.

For example, this phenomenal painting by Louise Janntta costs ÂŁ1,200.00 which may seem like a lot to pay in one go. But with an Own Art loan, you could be paying ÂŁ120.00 a month for 10 months with 0% interest. And the best part? You can take your painting home with you straight away.
