Derby Book Festival e-shot

Important information about bookings at QUAD

If you are planning to book tickets for Festival events hosted by QUAD in the next few days, please be aware that you will be unable to book online or by telephone between today, Monday 22 – Wednesday 24 May.  Normal service will resume on Thursday 25 May.

Bookings for events at all other venues will be unaffected and you can continue to book online for these.

QUAD will be open as normal on these days, however the Box Office will only be open for walk up sales and only for events on these days.

Please be reassured that you can feel confident about turning up at QUAD on any day for the rest of the Festival to book in-person at the Box Office.  None of the events for the rest of the Festival are close to selling out – we have put all (but three) Festival events in the largest cinema at QUAD, which has a capacity of 226.

The reason for this disruption to bookings is because QUAD is switching over to a brand new upgraded Box Office system and integrated website from 25 May.  They apologise for any inconvenience caused by this interruption.  QUAD Staff will be prioritising the smooth running of the switchover, so may not be able to respond immediately to any customer enquiries during that time.

Our first three days …

We are delighted that our first weekend of Festival events have gone well and it’s wonderful to see so many Festival goers at our venues – and enjoying the sunshine between events.

Over 400 people joined us for a memorable Opening Event with Alastair Campbell, when we heard a fascinating, wide-ranging interview with Marketing Derby MD, John Forkin MBE.

We’ve still got six days to go and lots of tickets left for the remaining events, so do take a look at what is still to come.

Looking for some half term fun?
Over half term, this year’s programme includes FREE Fairy Tale Puppet Theatre Shows in libraries across the city for pre-school children.  These are proving popular and booking is essential through the individual library.  For full details, check website and search for Children’s.

On Saturday 27 May, we will have the Big Book Bonanza from 12noon to 4pm with masses of FREE events including children’s street theatre performances, collage workshops with illustrator Jane Porter, Storytime sessions with Derby Libraries, Face Painting and lots of crafts and book stalls.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Festival
