The Water Power Project – Cromford Mills is passionate about becoming a more sustainable site and reducing our carbon footprint by putting water power back into the heart of Cromford Mills.  The industrial revolution started here using renewable water power, and we are now returning the site to its original renewable energy source, 250 years ago. With the installation of a new 5m diameter water wheel and a 17kWh hydro turbine and water source heating system; the new system will use the original water course and generate around 20-25% on-site electricity.
With rising costs, we need to raise an additional £60,000 to finish the installation in November 2023. We have set up a crowdfunding page and if you are able to donate, no matter the size, or even just spread the word – this will help us achieve this milestone and bring us closer to the vision we hold dear.
