Richard is a jeweller, creator and maker with forty years experience making and teaching. You can see a wide range of his work at www.richardbett.com and www.makeweddingrings.com“I love teaching and I’m very keen to pass on my skills.  My pupils enjoy their workshop days with me. I take four pupils at a time and charge £50 a day plus materials.  I offer three levels of workshops:”

  • “For several years I’ve offered a 2 year modular course covering all basic jewellery making skills.  There are four modules, each one is six lessons over six months, in between which students will practise their skills. I guide students in setting up their own workshops economically; the tools they need to have a good foundation. Some of my students have successfully developed their own business.”
  • “I’m happy to offer one-off lessons to developing jewellery makers who need a session on a specific aspect of work e.g. riveting, metal stamp making or soldering.”
  • “A one day workshop with four friends to try jewellery making and have a creative and stimulating day. These are enjoyable days, but we work hard, learn a skill and participants go home with a piece of jewellery they have designed and made.”
