Phase two of this project is getting off to a great start and more workshops have taken place in August. On the 5th, Ann Esders from Heirs & Graces shared her skills and showed the group how to embroider with silk ribbon. This was an embroidery style new to everyone and certainly required a degree of concentration but once the basic techniques had been mastered some beautiful floral images were created.
On the 19th August we travelled to Beeley, a picturesque village in the Peak District to take part in a workshop delivered by Jude Shore. Jude is a master felter and she showed the group, step by step how to make a small felt pot. It was quite remarkable how the 3D form emerged, it took patience and a lot of faith in Jude’s method and, true to her word almost miraculously the spherical pot appeared!
“Thank you for organising the felted pot workshop – it was a fabulous session and I had a wonderful day …. I love my pot!” – Lynne
“The workshop was so relaxing and fulfilling, thank you.” – Helen
