The LEVEL Centre are seeking a treasurer / finance lead to join our diverse Board of Trustees, who will bring knowledge and experience to help LEVEL Centre respond effectively to changes in the financial environment, and organisational priorities, for a term of three years.
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate financial specialist to join our board and support our mission.
What we are looking for:
– A friendly individual with an understanding of relevant financial laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Experience of Charity SORP recommendations for charity accounting standards.
– An understanding of charity finance in an arts organisation is desirable.
– Support for the Executive Director and Finance Manager where relevant.
– Ability to make informed financial recommendations.
– Ability to bring knowledge and experience to help LEVEL Centre respond effectively to changes in the financial environment and organisational priorities.
– Awareness of cultural sensitivities and commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion.
– Happy to look at finance differently so that it is accessible through graphs, pie charts and other visual aids.
– Job Requirements
Board meetings:
– The board meets 4 times a year (hybrid format).
– Additional meetings in exceptional circumstances.
– Three year term.
Additional responsibilities:
It is really hard to quantify but we think on average as a trustee you will need to dedicate approximately 6 – 10 hours a month to include:
– Operational support in the first six months through the transitional period of becoming a trustee and taking on this volunteer role.
– A commitment to reading messages, responding to emails that require board input, training where relevant, reading board papers, representing Level, attending events where possible and other roles relevant with the volunteer post.
