Flash Fiction Winners

Our 2023 Flash Fiction Writing Competition proved popular again, with 557 entries – our second-highest number of entries – across 5 categories.  We were delighted to be able to include a new category for HMP Sudbury this year.  This year’s theme was ‘Light’ and we received a broad range of stories and poems covering different aspects of the word.

We also ran a separate competition for 2nd-year Illustration students at the University of Derby to illustrate the stories for our Festival bookmarks.  The judging took place yesterday (30 March) and Guyui Lin was the winner.  The set of five bookmarks will be available at the Festival.

Each writing competition winner will receive a £50 book token and a framed copy of their illustrated bookmark.
