Level Centre are looking for a Marketing & Audience Development Officer to join the Level team!

The Marketing & Audience Development Officer will design and deliver integrated marketing campaigns to engage a range of different audiences and drive bookings.

Raising Level’s profile Regionally, Nationally and on an International level is a key part of this role. We’re looking for someone who recognises the importance of accessible marketing and is multi skilled from social media through to campaign management and delivery. An interest in performing, visual and digital contemporary art would be useful.

Salary: £25,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening, weekend and bank holiday working  may be required.

Annual leave: 25 days a year plus bank holidays

Job Purpose: The Marketing & Audience Development Officer will design and manage marketing and audience development campaigns to engage audiences and drive bookings

Key responsibilities:
  • Design and manage marketing and audience development campaigns using social media, emarketing, website and advertising to engage and build audiences and drive bookings
  • Manage the brand, design, marketing and communication processes
  • Play an active role in Level’s audience development
  • Write engaging copy for different audiences using plain English
  • Understand the importance of accessibility within marketing
  • Manage the CRM system
  • Maintain the Level website using WordPress
  • Manage the website booking system for public facing events
  • Write and design email communications using Mailchimp
  • Design marketing collateral both in house and using external agencies
  • Arrange printing of marketing collateral ensuring quality and accuracy
  • On and off line advertising within agreed budget
  • Draft press releases and maintain press contact list
  • Actively search for listing sites to publicise events and activities
  • Assist with the marketing and development of fundraising programmes
  • Support recruitment campaigns in line with Level’s EDI policy
  • Contribute towards the agreed outcomes and targets in our Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation agreement
  • Use data to inform marketing and programming decisions
  • Develop systems to capture data for reporting purposes
  • Collect and monitor data in accordance with the GDPR
  • Support and liaise with Associate and Residency Artists
Other Duties:
  • Work flexibly across the LEVEL team where required
  • Attend meetings and participate in training and other forms of staff development as required
  • Events management when required
  • Represent Level Centre externally when required
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post
Budgetary Responsibility:
  • Monitoring and overview of designated budgets

Essential Experience and skills:
  • Experience in marketing and communications
  • IT literate with a good knowledge of Social Media
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to deal calmly, confidently and positively with people at all levels
  • Excellent written skills and the ability to convey a compelling narrative to a wide range of audiences
  • Proven administration and organisational ability
  • Proven experience of using CMS systems
  • Experience in proofreading, copy editing and plain English
  • Graphic Design skills and experience
  • Understanding of website accessibility and WCAG compliance
Desirable Experience and skills:
  • Experience of working within an arts or cultural environment
  • Experience of using Word Press
  • Experience of working with learning disabled people
