UK Comedy Short FIFTY Seeks Filming Locations In Derbyshire

A new comedy short film is set to shoot in the UK this summer, and the production team is currently seeking filming locations across Derbyshire.

Titled FIFTY, the 12-minute proof-of-concept short is being developed for festival submission and to support an international series pitch.

With strong industry interest behind it, the project is being produced by an experienced team with credits across television, independent film, and studio-backed work.

About The Film

FIFTY follows Franklin, a dry-witted, endearingly chaotic Brit who becomes accidentally famous after a viral scandal and escapes to America in search of reinvention. A fish-out-of-water Ted Lasso meets the adventure of Poker Face.

Locations Needed

The team is currently looking for the following Derbyshire-based locations that can mimic smalltown America:

  • A dated motel or hotel interior (bedroom, bathroom, small reception)
  • A train carriage and station platform for a travel scene
  • An open field or village green to stage a quirky local fair scene
Filming Dates

Filming is scheduled for late July to early August, with flexibility on dates.

The shoot will involve a small, professional crew and minimal setup. The team is especially keen to work with local venue owners, creatives, and community organisations who enjoy supporting independent storytelling with heart and humour.
