Save the date for our Woodland Festival

If you fancy a great day out in a beautiful setting, make a note in your diary for our annual Woodland Festival on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September at Elvaston Castle Country Park.

The festival is a celebration of traditional and contemporary woodland crafts but there’s lots more on offer.

Watch expert craftsmen and women at work, from wood carving and turning to willow weaving, bush craft and furniture making.

There’s the chance to have a go at some of these skills yourselves. Plus there’s art, sculpture and a wide range of stalls.

  • Viking re-enactment, crafts and combat
  • Green Man storytelling and theatre

Smoking Apples’ amazing puppetry with the Arbor Show featuring a giant tree.

You’ll find lots of food and drink on offer, unique items to buy and the setting within the grounds and woodland at Elvaston means you can explore the formal gardens, lakes and parkland that surround the castle.

If you arrive on foot, bike or by public transport you’ll get free admission. Otherwise you pay a car parking charge of £15 per car/ £7.50 per motorcycle for the day. There’s a £20 weekend ticket available too. Payment is cash only.
