The AGM is Wednesday 4 December, 7pm at the Rock Mill Centre.
Location – Rock Mill Centre supported a lot of events this year, and can be found: down the cobbles behind the bus stops near the mini roundabout (local directions for local people).
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?
For many years now, the New Mills Festival has taken a fair bit of people power to put on. Individual events have their own organisers, and couldn’t happen without residents, business owners, local groups, putting in the hard work needed.
The New Mills Festival itself has a small team, mostly volunteers trying to co-ordinate events, manage equipment movements, insurances, storage, attract volunteers, make posters, get a brochure to print, advertise, update social media, newsletter, set up and staff the pop up shop in the town centre. It’s a lot. Some might say, perhaps pushing towards too much for the people we have available.
If next year you’d like to see another New Mills Festival, bringing people, noise, music, singing, dancing, running, walking, drawing, painting, galleries, knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, poetry, puppets, antiques, beer, coffee, cake, beaches, vibrancy and colour, excitement and laughter, please come along to the AGM, and be prepared to listen, understand, speak up, ask questions, problem solve, contribute.
You are welcome. All of you. Because without you we can’t do this. There isn’t a committee, mystery, diehard, or otherwise without you.
