New Mills Festival 2023 – Music!

Hello New Mills!

This week we’re bringing you news of a range of musical events, some of these are first time New Mills Festival events. A great mix of modern and traditional and events that combine both!


Proms in the Park


Proms in the Park! High Lea Park  Sunday 10 Sept from 4pm to 6pm. £3 for adults, free for under 12s. Bring your chair and picnic and listen, sing or tap your feet to the sounds of the New Mills Brass Band. They’ll be belting out traditional favourites and you’re encouraged to join in the singing. Refreshments available from the Heritage Centre. Monies raised go towards the running costs of New Mills Festival. Tickets available here:

High Peak Bass Collective


Watch out for more details shortly of the inaugural music and dance night of High Peak Bass Collective. HPBC is an assortment of the area’s most progressive, multi-genre electronic music artists, spanning house, techno, DnB, jungle and beyond. The hot-off-the-press news is that it will be at Millers Bar, Church Lane, New Mills 30 Sept, 6pm, over 21s only. There are early bird tickets for the first 50, at £8 (including booking fee), and £9 if you’re not one of the speedy ones. Last entry is 9pm and the first 20 through the door get a surprise gift. Shantell Ogden at the Strines Nightingale


A slightly out of town venue but worth it. Make your way along the Hague Bar Road to the Strines Nightingale Shantell is a songwriter / singer / performer from Nashville Tennessee. Great vocals, original lyrics, country meets pop meets folk meets soul. Sept 20, 8pm, tickets £12 from here:

Second nifty upgrade is that every ticketed event has a “Book now” button on the New Mills Festival events calendar. Ace, eh?

Finally, musical events you need to check out include the Pride of the Peak’s two events starring Angela Bra – Sept 9 and Sept 20. Is it music, is it comedy, who knows? Is it great fun, yes!  Providence Church and Spring Bank Arts have also got you covered.
