Fringe news and an invitation for Wednesday November 12th!

We hope you are enjoying the colours of autumn and have some happy memories of this summer’s successful Buxton Fringe! You can relive it via our updated picture and video galleries on the website. You may also want to check out our Youtube channel for some atmospheric video clips!

Fringe 2026

Next year’s Fringe dates have now been confirmed as July 8-26, running in parallel to Buxton International Festival (July 9-26). We will be open for entries from December 1st by which time our website’s Take Part pages will have been fully updated. In the meantime they can be used as a general guide.

We can also inform you that after careful thought we have made the decision to freeze entry fees once again! At some point we will inevitably have to raise fees to keep up with rising costs, so do make the most of these bargain rates and consider entering 2026’s Buxton Fringe! We will be keeping the tiered entry structure: from December 1st 2025 until February 28th 2026 you pay £55. Thereafter you pay £77 if you enter by the end of March and £88 after that. Note, the deadline for the printed programme is Sunday April 19th. We encourage all performers to enter by this date.

New-look Fringe AGM!

Our Annual General Meeting takes place on Wednesday November 12th at the Pump Room, opposite Buxton’s Crescent. This year it will run from 7-9pm and will consist of a lively Fringe presentation including the announcement of some key Fringe appointments, followed by a chance to socialise with the Fringe team. There will be complimentary drinks on arrival as well as a paying-bar.

Fringe Friends – please read!

Thanks to all those of you who have amended your standing order to reflect our latest bank details. If you have yet to do this, please see details below:

Buxton Festival Fringe A/C No 67356645 Sort Code 08-92-99

We cannot do this on your behalf. Note also that our membership fees are now £15 single or £25 joint membership where two people live at the same address.

We greatly appreciate the support of Fringe Friends which helps us to keep entry fees low.

Fringe Surveys

A big thank you to everyone who filled in an audience or entrants’ survey! We have been analysing statistics and responses and have been blown away by the supportive feedback from audience members and entrants alike. A press release is due to be released in the coming weeks so do keep an eye on our latest news for further information including an estimate of the Fringe’s contribution to the local economy. We take note of all your feedback and are constantly striving to improve the Fringe.

Get involved

This is a great time to get stuck in behind the scenes. We welcome new committee members as well as people who want to help out in a less formal and perhaps more sporadic way. Why not come along to the AGM and have a chat with us? You may be surprised how practical and varied Fringe work can be!
