The team at FORMAT would like to thank everyone who helped make 2021 such a memorable year. The Festival welcomed over 80,000 visitors from 90+ countries to more than 800 events, all supported by their staff teams and over 100 international volunteers.

FORMATs biennial festival – FORMAT21: Control went online in March and with the relaxation of the Covid19 regulations they were able to present a selection of the festival in the real world during the summer.

During the year, FORMAT presented some amazing Photoforums online, and their sincere gratitude goes to all the speakers for sharing their stories, advice and inspiration.

FORMAT Curators – Get Lishui Top Award

FORMAT Festival are delighted to announce that the team and selected artists in their un/natural exhibition at Lishui Photography Festival have been selected for multiple awards:

FORMAT curators Louise Fedotov-Clements and Niamh Treacy have been awarded the Expert Recommended Curators Award.

Jamie Tilley’s project Does a cow know when a storm is coming? has been awarded the Special Collection Award.

Daisy Noyes, Nature Strip; Federico Estol, Shine Heroes and Ingmar Bjorn Nolting, Measure and Middle have all been awarded the Expert Recommended Photographers Award.

The Festival would like to thank everyone at the Lishui International Photography Festival for their support in producing this exhibition and their recognition through these awards.

FUTURE FOCUS – Exhibition Launch

Tickets are free, but spaces will be very limited. Refreshments will be provided, with speeches launching the exhibition in QUAD Participation Space, next to the Gallery.

New 2022 Dates – FORMAT International Portfolio Review

FORMAT’s renowned international Portfolio Review is returning in March 2022. Join the Festival for two days of exciting reviews, where you have the chance to get your work in front of some of the most influential and expert photography professionals from around the world.

Next year’s reviews will once again take place online, over two days Thursday 24th and Friday 25th March from 9:30am – 4:00pm (GMT) with Portfolio Awards being presented after the reviews on Friday.
