New public mental health research initiative from the Nottingham Institute of Mental Health – opportunity to talk about how you use creativity to support your mental health and wellbeing

The Recovery Research Team, which is based at the Institute of Mental Health, University of Nottingham https://researchintorecovery.com/ are running the Mental Health Citizen Science project

They have recently launched two research projects, where they aim to learn from the public about what helps them with their mental health. They know that research often draws from a very narrow range of people, and they want to do better, by seeking to include and involve people who might not otherwise have a connection to mental health research.

This is an opportunity to talk about what you use to manage mental health, and what you imagine to be the ideal systems to have in place to support this. If you use creativity in this way, or can imagine a society where people have access to creativity to support them, this is relevant too.

Project 1: a survey to learn from UK residents about the strategies they use to manage mental health challenges: https://www.healthresearch.study/participate/citizen-science/.

Project 2: they are asking people to imagine a mental health system and society that is responsive and supportive: https://www.healthresearch.study/participate/citizen-science-2/

They have also created a mailing list to share information about our public research projects as we develop them.  The aim of this is to create a community of people who will be actively engaged in our research. Joining the mailing list will provide a platform to further engage and develop mutual benefits in research.
If this is of interest to you, you can join the mailing list via this link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=MHCITIZENSCIENCEPROJECT&A=1

And finally – all findings from these projects will be available free to the public, at https://www.researchintorecovery.com/research/c-stacs/
