The trustees of the Concertina Charitable Trust will review applications after the deadlines of: October 31st. Please submit your application in good time so the administrator can review it to ensure there are no omissions and that it is suitable before submission to the Trustees.
Grants are a maximum of £250. One of the most common mistakes smaller organisations make is not including their accounts or financial statements with the application. This will henceforth result in an automatic refusal to grant funds. Charities are invited to make an application to the Trustees via the Administrator at The Concertina Charitable Trust, Nells Platt, Smithwood Common, Cranleigh, Surrey GU6 8QY.
You need to provide details of your charities objects, its financial position, the sector of the elderly community which it benefits, amount sought and proposed cultural activities or related facilities it intends to provide.
IN AN EFFORT TO REDUCE ADMIN COSTS NO EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE OR TELEPHONE CONVERSATIONS WILL BE ENTERED INTO WITH REGARD TO THE APPLICATION. NO EMAIL APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE SEND HARD COPY APPLICATIONS IN THE POST.
The Trustees will assess any application to ensure that any grant would be within the Trust’s objects, whether the charity is in financial need, the amount of benefit that would be derived from the grant (for example, the number of residents that would attend a concert or use the facilities) and any other factors the Trustees think important. As part of this process, the Trustees may ask for further information and, if feasible, one of the Trustees will meet a representative of the charity.
If the Trustees decide that a grant is appropriate, they will then consider the amount and whether to require, for example, the recipient charity to contribute part of the cost of the proposed activity. The Trust is particularly keen to act as a catalyst via matched funding.
If a grant is made, the Trustees will require feedback from the recipient charity on how the funds have been applied and the number of people who benefited from the grant and their reaction.
