Belper Recorder Players are looking for a new Musical Director. Our group has been in existence for almost nine years now. We play seven sizes of recorder from the garklein to the great bass and cover a wide variety of music.
We are looking for a musician (ideally a recorder player) with both conducting and adult teaching experience to help develop playing skills, to provide us with an interesting and fun repertoire and to conduct us in performances (2-3 per year).
The group meets in Belper, Derbyshire on two Saturday mornings per month for two hours. We would only require the MD to lead one session per month, initially.
We are an affiliated group of the Society of Recorder Players and pay the Musicians’ Union rates. Interested parties should contact Jane Layne (Secretary) at janelayneuk@yahoo.co.uk for more details, following which we would ask for a brief resume of relevant experience.
We would then be in contact to arrange attendance at a meeting, leading at least part of the session, to allow for mutual appraisal and thus constituting the ‘interview’ process.
